Odessa, Texas Glendon Denver Nolan 1928 — 2024 Glendon Denver Nolan of Odessa, Texas left his earthly home to take his place in his Heavenly home on Thursday evening, March 7, 2024. He was 95 years old and suffered from a chronic illness. He passed peacefully at his home. Glen moved to Odessa from Andrews, Texas with his wife and son in 1970, and lived in the same home the entire time in Odessa. He was a highly skilled welder, metalworker, woodworker, and graphic artist. He also served in the US Army as a paratrooper with the 11th Airborne Division, and fought in the Korean War with the 187th Regimental Airborne Combat Team. He was born to Benjamin Lee Bond and Ruby Lee Parton in Brownwood, Texas on September 5, 1925. Jimmie was raised in Brownwood and was orphaned in the 5th grade. His grandmother Parton took care of him and his siblings. This was during the Great Depression, so it was always a struggle to keep food on the table. Jimmie found work as a brick mason's assistant and as head of household, he was not immediately drafted into the military.
