Robin[]

Boyfriend

Starfire (Teen Titans)/Relationships (1)

Robin is Starfire's main love interest, best friend, and arguably the love of her life.

However, Starfire and Robin's meeting was initially a harsh one; revealed in the episode "Go!" they began embedding each other in combat. Throughout their first meeting, Robin was unaware of her name or her intentions on the planet. However, after a while, Robin realized that Starfire was feeling threatened because she was stranded on an unfamiliar planet. He was the first person to show her kindness and after uponby freeing her from the remains of her bonds. Afterward, Starfire kissed Robin on the lips, which began his romantic feelings for her. However, she only did this to attain knowledge of the English language. She pushed him to the ground again, not understanding the kindness he was showing her and going on her own because it was not a term she knew about her planet. Starfire was initially aggressive and mistrusting of Robin, even after he freed her.Despite the animosity growing between them, Robin still chased after Starfire, with Raven, Beast Boy, and Cyborg, especially when the Gordanians were searching for her. When they met again in the video games store, Robin remained friendly towards her despite Starfire's continuing aggression. However, she calmed down as Robin talked to her before the Gordanians attacked them, and they were forced to fight them to protect Starfire from them. Following their encounter with the Gordanians and the enemies' threats of destroying the city, Starfire and Robin began arguing until Raven snapped them all out of their fighting. Even though they went on to protect Jump City from the Gordanians, the two apologised to each other, and Robin was obliged to protect Starfire as well. She was very concerned for him too when Robin was thrown off by the leader of the Gordanians and viciously attacked him in retaliation for hurting Robin. After Starfire chose to stay on earth, Robin welcomed her to the planet. The two blushed upon looking at each other, hinting at their mutual attraction.

The two didn't officially become a couple until the film, Trouble in Tokyo. However, every time they try to kiss each other, they are interrupted. Despite whatever feelings Robin has for Starfire, he can not confess them to her, and instead, he tells her that he can only be a hero and can not have a relationship with her. Heartbroken and crying, Starfire fled but later returned to help him escape Commander Daizo and the Tokyo Troopers. Afterward, Starfire and Robin finally kiss in the rain with the other Titans watching and Cyborg stating, "it's about time." At the award ceremony, Starfire and Robin are seen holding hands, confirming they are officially boyfriend and girlfriend.

By the comics, Starfire and Robin commit themselves to a serious relationship. On the anniversary of his parents' deaths, Starfire immediately comforts Robin when he breaks down crying, and she hugs him before they have another kiss. Batman watches his adoptive son and Starfire from afar, knowing that Robin will be just fine with her.

Friends[]

Raven[]

Starfire (Teen Titans)/Relationships (2)

Best Friend, Teammate and Sister Figure

Being the only girls on the team, Raven and Starfire have a special friendship and sisterly bond, essentially becoming best friends. However, at the start of the team's formation, Starfire and Raven rarely hung out together by themselves, with them bonding with the boys of their team. Starfire also seems to be slightly intrusive about Raven's history. After their encounter with Doctor Light, Starfire was worried about her best friend, as she continued to push Robin to see how Raven was faring, despite his protests. After the episode "Switched," Starfire and Raven's relationship hit a turning point. After spending the day with each other's powers when their bodies were temporarily switched, they had a better understanding of each other. However, at first, Raven and Starfire could not get along, nearly arguing more than once. However, they eventually worked it out and learned of each other's pasts. At the end of the episode, after succeeding in saving the boys, Starfire came to meditate with Raven, who welcomed the company, despite rebuffing her earlier.

It is shown that Raven does indeed value Starfire's friendship, as she was so devastated when her best friend disappeared, that Raven lost most of her sanity and was left in sadness for the loss of a friend.

Cyborg (Close Friend)[]

Starfire (Teen Titans)/Relationships (3)

Close Friend, Teammate and Older Brother Figure

Cyborg and Starfire first met when Gordanians were attacking Jump City. Because of her unfamiliarity with Earth, Starfire was terrified and began shooting starbolts as Cyborg and the other Titans. However, after Robin calmed her down, Cyborg grew comfortable around the hostile alien Princess. They later became teammates afterward. Following the prequel episode, Cyborg and Starfire grow closer to each other, and the former begins to see her as the younger sister he never had. They rarely argue with each other and have an amicable relationship. In "Final Exam," she helped Cyborg when Gizmo attached a rocket to the latter hero's back and sent him flying to Gotham City had Starfire not intervened. However, Cyborg later snaps at her after they have been booted out of Titan Towers by Gizmo, Jinx, and Mammoth. In the third episode, "Divide and Conquer," Starfire was saddened by Cyborg's argument with Robin and temporary leave from the Titans. She augmented this by making the Pudding of Sadness, which is made and consumed by her people on their planet whenever something tragic happens. A major point in Starfire's relationship with Victor was when she was called "Troq" by the the Vernathian hero Val-Yor. Starfire kept it secret from her friends. that "Troq" was a word for "nothing," literally telling Starfire and her people as nobodies after he accidentally called her that. Cyborg was immediately disgusted by it when Starfire explained the term's meaning and urged her to tell Robin that Val-Yor is insulting her. Being half human and half tech made Cyborg empathize with her on racism, as he was also judged for his own appearance. He later told Robin that Val-Yor was insulting Starfire, who was equally infuriated and cut the alliance between the alien Warrior and the Titans short.

Apart from fighting alongside each other, both Starfire and Cyborg spend their spare time together by lifting weights. Their cheerful demeanors often accommodate each other, and they both share this trait to make their friends feel comfortable. Also, in several episodes, Cyborg is aware of Robin's attraction to Starfire and supports the idea of them being together. In the episodes "Stranded," Cyborg refers to Starfire as Robin's girlfriend. However, Robin snaps and tells Cyborg that Starfire is not his girlfriend. later, when Robin and Starfire had their first real kiss together in the series finale movie, Cyborg commented "Well it's about time,"showing his support for the new couple.

Beast Boy[]

Starfire (Teen Titans)/Relationships (4)

(Close Friend)

Due to Beast Boy being the youngest member of the Titans, Starfire acts as an older sister figure for him due to the experience of having a younger brother herself. Despite her questionable taste in foods, Beast Boy holds her in the highest regard. In "Final Exam," he comforted Starfire with the idea that robin survived their encounter with Jinx, Mammoth, and Gizmo. Beast Boy later defended her when Cyborg unreasonably snapped at Starfire. During "Forces of Nature," Beast Boy pulled a prank on Starfire intended for Cy, causing her to snap at him and find it to be immature and childish. She called him a "Clorbag Varblernelk," an offensive nickname, probably the Earth equivalent of Star calling Beast Boy a "jerk" or a more colorful term. After their encounter with the twin brothers Thunder and Lightning, Beast Boy realized the error of his ways and apologized to Starfire, who easily accepted it. This taught him to stick with harmless jokes instead, and inspired Thunder and later, Lightning to reform.

It is shown that in "How Long Is Forever," Beast Boy relies on Starfire like the rest of the team. In the dark future, he becomes lonely, overweight, and trapped in a cage as "Beast Man," falling in a state of depression.

Aqualad[]

(Former Crush/Good Friend)

In "Deep Six," both Starfire and Raven instantly developed crushes on Aqualad when they first met him. She was not infatuated with him anymore due to her current relationship with Robin.

Red Star[]

Starfire (Teen Titans)/Relationships (5)

(Good Friend/Former Love Interest)

In the Season Five episode, "Snowblind," Starfire and her teammates were tracking down a monster responsible for attacking a city in Siberia. While battling the monster, Starfire pursued it into a blizzard but got lost from her friends and lost sight of the creature. As time passed, the low temperatures eventually took their toll on her, causing her to pass out and quickly becoming buried under the snow. Fortunately, before she was buried alive, she was found by Red Star, who arrived to investigate after Starfire inadvertently tripped one of his proximity alarms. Despite not knowing who Starfire was, Red Star immediately rescued her, pulling her out of the snow and draping her unconscious body over his shoulder as he carried her back to his lair where she could recuperate

When Starfire awakened sometime later, she initially mistook Red Star as an enemy who abducted her, not realizing that he had saved her life. After Red Star explained himself, the two would form a strong friendship. Starfire showed great sympathy for Red Star, being saddened upon learning how he accidentally destroyed the Siberian city and was rejected by his people as an abomination. Wishing to help him, Starfire began teaching and encouraging Red Star on how to use his powers to help others and regain the trust of his people who feared him. When Red Star returned with the Titans to his former home, Starfire became his confidant and stood up for him against the villagers who were still furious at him. During these events, the two began to develop an attraction towards each other. Though these feelings were put aside later on, due to Starfire’s feelings for Robin, the two remain very close.

Argent[]

(Good Friend and Fan)

Starfire (Teen Titans)/Relationships (6)

The two female heroines met in "Calling All Titans!" When the Brotherhood of Evil started pursuing young heroes, Robin sent Starfire to find Argent and warn her about the coming danger. Starfire would find Argent in New Zealand, where the young heroine was working to fix a damaged dam before it could flood a canyon. When they first met, Argent and Starfire became fast friends, despite their opposite personalities, Starfire being optimistic and Argent being more stoic. Argent had no problem in letting Starfire help her in fixing the dam despite only just meeting her, and the two proved to be a good team. When Starfire gave her a Titans communicator and asked her to join the team as an honorary member, Argent immediately accepted and was grateful for Starfire’s help. Later on, when Argent was attacked by the Brotherhood’s droid army, Starfire immediately went back to help Argent but was saddened and worried when she arrived too late to prevent her capture. After the defeat of the brotherhood, they remain good friends.
